Recent Additions...

There seems to be a bottomless pit of examples of never-to-be-used furniture placed haphazardly in hotels around the world.  Here are some of them.  Some of them are from my own collection.  Some have been sent by friends who know how much I like to see a bent wood chair beside a yucca near a bin.  You know who you are.  I know who you are.  Thankfully concierges and receptionists around the world don't.  You have my gratitude...

I often wonder what it would be like to open my hotel room door and see someone sitting in a solitary chair reading a Mills & Boon novel. 

 

Thankfully I've never had cause to consider what it would be like to lift my eyes from the act of using a urinal and meeting the gaze of someone sitting on a low stool runinatively gnawing on a Scotch egg...

Oh sweet Jesus...

 

What in the name of all that is good and noble in the world is going on here?  I know this picture was taken in America.  I am fully aware of that nation's commitment to public service and obesity-related laziness...

 

...but to install seating options for people waiting to use the facilities, or, God forbid to watch the proceedings..?  That is too much.
